Sunflower oil is produced by pressing sunflower seeds. This oil is widely used in the food industry worldwide, but nowadays, a portion is also used as a raw material for biodiesel production. The largest producer of sunflower oil is Ukraine, closely followed by Russia.
Crude sunflower oil
Crude sunflower oil is derived from pressing sunflower seeds.
This product is then chemically or physically refined.
Refined sunflower oil
Refined sunflower oil is produced during the chemical refining of crude sunflower oil.
This product is widely used in the food industry.
Sunflower fatty acids
Sunflower acidic oils/fatty acids are a by-product that arises during the neutralization process of sunflower oil.
Due to its chemical composition and high linoleic acid content, this product is a highly sought-after raw material for the animal feed industry.
Sunflower distillate
Sunflower distillate is a by-product that arises during the deodorization process of sunflower oil.
Its chemical composition makes this product highly desired as tocopherol. It is widely used in bio-oil heating or in the pharmaceutical industry.
Sunflower lecithin
Sunflower lecithin is a by-product that arises during the degumming of crude sunflower oil.
This product is used in custom blends for the animal feed industry.
